Our Mission
We turn lemons into lemonade by engaging Credible Messengers, individuals who’ve chosen transformation for themselves. Our work happens in the trenches, rooted in relationships, trust, and consistency with those most at risk of becoming gun-violence headlines. We focus on shifting mindsets toward peace, facilitating ceasefires, mediations, and reconciliations, while guiding individuals toward alternative paths beyond retaliation.

Together We Rise D.C. is a community-led nonprofit dedicated to preventing gun violence, supporting survivors, and creating pathways to healing and opportunity across the District.
Born out of neighborhoods most impacted, we blend street-level outreach, trauma-informed care, youth leadership, and advocacy to build safer, stronger communities. Our work is rooted in love, fueled by hope, and measured by real results — lives saved, survivors supported, and futures opened.
